"YouTube Hall of Fame: The Wire" - Grantland.com

Y'know I just didn't see anything worth Poop Reading today UNTIL I found this just now. YouTube Hall of Fame for the Wire. GIT OFF ME!!!!! I am so pumped to watch this. Best show of all time combined with one of my favorite regular web columns. Oh this is gonna be so good. So so very wonderful. Excuse me I need a moment.

I watched a few clips of The Wire today, including when Slim Charles pops Cheese, and god DAMN was that a good scene. Slim Charles was the man, and Method Man was so damn good at playing a slimy, two-faced slug. It felt so good to watch him get his wig split. Really brought me back. Enjoy.

Interview with Omar from The Wire by Mark Anthony Green - GQ.com

Omar's real name is Michael K. Williams but you ain't even know that, so I changed the title of the article in the title of the blog. Deal.

Omar was an unfairly cool and likeable TV character. One of the best ever. Now Williams is playing another likeable thug in Boardwalk Empire. He gets asked if he's worried about being typecast from here on out. Great answer. Basically he's like "shit nah, I'm tryin' to eat." Fair enough Omar. A man's gotta have a code.

"NBA Playoffs are Wired: Part 2" by Bill Simmons - ESPN.com

WHERE WALLACE AT HUH??! WHERE WALLACE AT??!

Relax D, he's on Friday Night Lights crushing that cute black chick with the big smile and the freckles. Things turned out alright.

If anything in those first few sentences made sense to you you are going to love Part 2 of Bill Simmons' Wire quotes describing the NBA playoffs. B'lee dat.

"NBA Playoffs are Wired" by Bill Simmons - ESPN.com

This is why I still love Bill Simmons. First of all, he invented the sports and pop culture writing niche thats so prevalent these days. He's the Godfather. So there'e that. But also, this column is just so original. He takes the 60 best quotes from The Wire (the greatest television show of all time, bar none) and uses them to describe the NBA playoffs. That's a great column idea. And for any Wire fans out there, you are going to absolutely love revisiting these quotes.

It's a two-parter, so check back for part 2 tomorrow.

"Obit for Mayor William Donald Schaefer" by Richard Ben Cramer - Esquire.com

First things first, I don't know jackshit about Bodymore, Murderland, except that Bodie and Bunk were the two best characters on The Wire, Ray Lewis probably didn't kill that guy but I'm pretty sure he's capable of murder anyway, and I love crab cakes but I'm allergic to them when I drink and no one eats crab cakes sober except maybe Ray Lewis because he's a madman. (Breath.) That being said, this is an eloquent obituary for a man who truly knew Baltimore--former Mayor William Donald Schaefer who passed away Monday. He was the guy who gave a damn about Baltimore before David Simon made it the cool thing to do. Read this if you want to be inspired by someone fighting the good fight.

"David Simon, Creator of The Wire, Speaks on Felicia "Snoop" Pearson's Arrest" by Nina Shen Rastogi - Slate.com

Short poop read her folks. Might want to print out an addendum if you're gonna be locked down for a bit, but here is David Simon's take on Snoop's recent arrest on a drug trafficking charge. Believe this, the Poopreader who sent this in said it best: "David Simon is on some other shit."

For real though? Your hair look good girl.
